You have to serve 180 active duty days to be qualified as a veteran.
You should have received an Entry level separation,
usually given if the member has less than 90 days active duty...
Veterans benefits are given for Honorable discharges,
eligible for some benefits for General (under honorable conditions)
and on a case by case basis for Other than honorable discharges.
You would know,
if you were issued a DD Form 214 (Certificate of Release or Discharge from Active Duty)
Block 24 would say which of these you were entitled to.
