Someone said: In CA, if you send an EDD "continuing claim" form more than 14 days late, the first thing that will happen is that your payments will be suspended until EDD schedules you for a Phone Interview to determine why you were late. If you miss that interview, or do not have a "good" reason (see below), you will NOT GET PAID for that period. Good reasons, according to the CA EDD website, include sickness of a relative, employer's failure to provide timely information, or bad information from EDD. Forgetting, being distracted, someone filed the form in a folder, or losing the form, etc, are not acceptable reasons. If they determine that your excuse is not good enough, you have the right to appeal the decision in writing within 20 days. However, using the same reason/excuse will get you the same result!

California EDD. I sent my claim form in after 2 weeks. They called me but I missed the call. Im going to call them. But does anyone know exactly what might happen. termination..? think they will reenstate the claim..?

I mailed my form 7 days late and they just reiterated the "14 days" rule out of their Handbook to me in an email. They werent very helpful. Mine wasn`t 14 days late so I`m hoping all is well.
