My wife left me for another man while I was at work without any warning.
She refused marriage counseling and filed for divorce in Florida,
which is a no-fault state.
I hired an attorney as I was in a state of confusion.
Most of what I thought about divorce law confused me more.
I found out that I had not rights or say in the divorce process.
My wife did not work by choice and I did,
which went against me as I had to pay all attorney fees for all the attorneys and she got more then half of everything that I had worked for.
When she did work,
she keep all her money and never paid a bill.
Besides getting a large settlement and lump sum alimony;
I also have my wages garnished weekly for permanent alimony to support her,
her live in boyfriend and his sons.
None of them work or will work as she claims she has a need and I have the ability to pay.
My expenses or needs has never been considered by the court.
No child support was involved as their were no minor children.
She pressured me when I was young to marry her and I never knew how corrupt divorce laws are.
I should never have gotten married.
I have heard of other women leaving their husbands for another man that can not support himself and the courts order alimony for the wife.
The courts don`t want to hear about fault or anything that a normal person would think that should be a consideration in a decision.
I was left out of some hearings and was ignored on anything thing I said.
I don`t see where my attorney was any help to me.
Most laws are don`t followed by the Judge as everything is at their discretion.
I always thought that a person that was violent,
consumes a lot of alcohol,
criminal and a person that is considered a bad person was a good reason to divorce;
but Florida Family law will reward that type of person.
My divorce is a perfect example of why the divorce rate is high and what is wrong with what a marriage should be.
Best advice is not to marry.
